Who else just really can’t stand the Sultant? I find him to be a very abusive father and a hypocrite on top of this. He treats Jafar so cruely when he’s a child and takes little to no accountability. Yet he has the audacity to call out adult Jafar being cruel (which to be clear Jafar is also wrong but his dad was no better). If he showed regret for his actions that would be one thing but he really didn’t seem to regret anything. He even said he wished he had put Jafar under the water for longer. I really couldn’t possibly feel sorry for this man!

He really did seem to want to change for her this time. Maybe he felt if Belle wasn’t going to accept him now he might as well return to his power. I know Belle did come back to him after all but he likely didn’t know she would at the time.
