I recently came on board a private practice clinic that is just starting up and trying to build clientele, and I’m having some issues with Web PT.
This clinic sees quite a bit of personal injury and a lot of these individuals are direct access patients.
Web PT requires you to select a medical diagnosis before you can even sign off on the initial eval. Obviously it’s not within our scope to assign a medical DX , and there is no option to circumvent that section.
Web PT’s support team has been absolutely useless in helping me solve the problem. They even told me to contact the APTA, who advised me to “follow the billing practices of my employer”. When I asked if my employer would be liable if I get audited or investigated, they emailed back “it’s your professional license”, then told me to include my APTA active member# if I had any more questions smfh… EXACTLY why I haven’t paid dues in over a decade. Needless to say, no one else at my company is licensed or clinical, and they really don’t have any established “billing practices”.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue, and is there a solution? (Other than have the patient go get a script for PT). If not, how would you guys handle this predicament?
