Windstar Alaska: Kayak excursions on sea days, worth it?
Hi y'all. So I recently booked an Alaska cruise on Windstar's Star Seeker for myself and my partner for his birthday. I was looking at the excursions and I noticed that for three different sea days, in Tracy Arm/Misty Fjords/Kenai Fjords, there are options to do a kayaking or zodiac tour. Now, I normally do not book excursions through the cruise line because the prices are often too steep for my liking, but in the case of these locations these are all sea days and the tours apparently give you closer access to wildlife, glacier, etc. My question is has anyone done one of these and are they worth it? I had planned to just stay on the ship these days and admire the views, but now I'm wondering if we won't be anchored in the same spot the whole time and miss the best views unless we go kayaking or on a zodiac tour. Any insights?
