As an admin, I’m a bit confused about the system setting: "Copyright and license information must be provided for files before they are published."
We’d like to encourage our teachers to include proper image credits in Canvas courses so they’re actually visible to students.
The issue is: while this setting can be enforced, it applies to all files, not just images. After uploading, I can enter copyright/license information, but I can’t actually see that information displayed anywhere on the images in the course. Editing it afterward doesn’t seem possible either.
So… where does this information go? Is there any way to make it visible directly with the image?
How are others handling image attribution in Canvas courses? Are there best practices or workarounds to make image credits visible to students?
