Providence

the rinsed corpse
of a weary woman
pushed off the planet
according to plan
pinned between
providence and
a reason to stand
pretending to pick
between superstition
and best laid plans
but we all know
what you took from
the tongue you'll
take from the hand

Crack Whore

if I could trade the

crack whore you

could've been for

the one you were

I'd ask her if she

knows the peace

that exists for a

junkie in her fix

if the whispers in

her shuttered house

keep her company

and the candle lit

Burnt Sienna Pen

I'm somehow extra sad to have missed your call now. I hope you got in ok and had a kind reintroduction to that special place. It has been good talking to you. I know it will be hard for you there, practically, at times. I won't worry for you in absentia like some of the ones you're now with but I will send a message in a bottle your way through the desert to the swamp with something about the city not swallowing you whole this time scribbled on a picture of us with a burnt sienna pen.

I love you. Be safe and even when you're not: breathe.

Familiar

I love you singing and
silly and sore in the
sexiest of ways
I love you suddenly here
from somewhere so
far from sight and
try as I might I
just can't fight the
feeling there's
something so
familiar about you

Forgotten

forget me not or
forget me quick
and forget it all
forget the reasons we had
and the misplaced path
forget my face and
the grace we made
forget the crescendo
in our climax
always remember
it was surrender
forget the folly
in thinking there
is anything we keep
forget the impact and
ignore the echoes
until only ripples remain
and then
forget my name

Just a quick note to those of you who might be interested in alternative platforms like Reddit. An Italian developer friend of mine has recently started Surikata. Pretty slick interface, integrated IRC chat and a lot of TLC poured into the project. Got some good fundamentals behind it and I would like to see it grow its user base. Really small right now (less than 100 users) but a good community and as with any of these it is primarily techie type folks initially. I don't plan to migrate as IE here is my home, but I've started a writing guild there (sub) and invite you all to check it out. I'd also be interested in hearing your experiences with any other alternative platforms.

Cheers, IO
