Hiii ppl in Reddit!!
I’m going to make my first audition through a self tape tomorrow and I have a lot of doubts and zero direction so if anyone is kind enough to answer I’ll be super grateful! <3
First: I use glasses since I’m legally blind w/o them. In personal I think they suit the character (since she is supposed to be a quirky, kinda blunt but funny best friend of the protagonist and also the casting is open for any disability) but I don’t know if I should add in my tape that I’m open to contacts or that my contacts will be arriving later on (I don’t have them rn and the auditions are due on Monday!!)
Second: it’s an open casting so it doesn’t really matter where I am but I do have USA papers!! Idk if I should add a comment on that or where in my introduction.
Third: the slate says to say your name, height, age and current location. Should I only say that or should I add more??
Fourth: I have a couple of actions in the script such as
-looking on something in my character’s phone
-replaying a video
-leaving the scene
Does anyone have an idea of how to do it? Again, it’s my first audition and the reader isn’t even supposed to be on screen so idk if I should do the mimic or just talk directly?
