Probiotic Recommendations

I feel like I’m on a never-ending journey to find a good probiotic. I’ve tried several over the years, and some have worked…until they didn’t. So then I switch to a new one.

I’m currently taking Seed probiotic, only 1 pill. I’m on day 6 and experiencing stomach cramps. I’m starting to think Seed may not be for me. 😅

Before that, I was taking VSL#3 for a few months, and it worked well for me at first. My stomach seemed to be doing better overall. But again, I started having more bad than good stomach days. Which is when I switched to Seed.

Anyway, I know everyone reacts differently to probiotics, but I would love to know what has worked well for you.

Also, for context, I regularly get constipated, have gas and bloating, and just overall sensitivity to things. I also get diarrhea occasionally (normally follows a few days of constipation).

Increased Migraines from Starting Birth Control

I’m at a loss…I started birth control (Lo Loestrin Fe) around when I was 17 and was on it for years with no issues. Once I came off of it in 2023 to try to conceive, I began getting hormonal migraines. I had never had migraines before this. The migraines started happening weekly, and I got to a point where I needed a break. So, I went back on birth control for a few months last year and was blissfully migraine free during that time. I was skipping the placebo pills and had no major issues.

Well, I decided I was ready for us to start trying to conceive again and came off the pill again in November last year. The migraines came back right away. I put up with them until now. For several reasons, my husband and I have decided to take another break until the start of next year when I plan to be back on his insurance plan instead of my current insurance plan. So, I figured I deserved another migraine free break until then.

I’ve been back on the same birth control (the only birth control I’ve ever taken - Lo Loestrin Fe) for about 3 weeks now. And it’s been hell. I can tell my hormones are very off-balance right now. I’m currently suffering through my third migraine since being back on the pill, and my migraines seem to be more sporadic compared to when I was off the pill.

I just wanted to vent, but I also want to hear from others that have had similar experiences. Will the migraines subside as my body re-adjusts to the pill or should I maybe try a different birth control?
