I’m planning a new home build and would love some feedback on the layout and overall flow before I finalize things.
Here’s what I have in mind:
- 4 bedrooms (for a family setup + one guest room)
- A spacious living room that feels open and welcoming
- A central courtyard to bring in natural light and ventilation
- An open kitchen connected to the living/dining area
- A side garden for greenery and a bit of relaxation space
- Parking space (preferably covered) accessible from the main gate
My goal is to keep the house modern, airy, and functional, not too cramped. I also want a good balance between privacy (bedrooms) and open social spaces.
A few things I’m unsure about:
- Best placement of the courtyard (center vs side?)
- How to design the open kitchen without it looking messy
- Ideal bedroom positioning for privacy + ventilation
- Whether the garden + parking should be combined or separated
If anyone has built something similar or has design ideas, layout suggestions, or even mistakes to avoid — I’d really appreciate your input.
