456 pre-registrations from one LinkedIn post. Is that enough to move my release date forward?
So I'm a solo dev, been building a minesweeper game for Android in my spare time. Nothing crazy, just the game I always wanted to exist... infinite mode, no ads, proper campaign levels, tournaments.
Put it on pre-registration on Play Store a while back, wasn't really promoting it. Last week posted about it once on LinkedIn. Didn't expect much.
456 sign-ups. Available in 177 countries.
Now I'm wondering if I should just move the release forward to this week instead of waiting. Originally had no hard date.
Two things I'm genuinely unsure about:
Is 456 pre-registrations actually a good number or am I excited about nothing? I have no reference point for what's normal on Play Store.
Does Play Store presence / pre-registration even matter for an indie game or is it mostly irrelevant to actual downloads at launch?
Built in Flutter if that matters. First time shipping something like this. Not vibecoded!
