Need Enclosure Advice!!!
Hello, I'm looking to get a yellow headed monitor in the next month or two and am wanting to build the enclosure myself.
I'm thinking an L shape, walk-in, fairly large enclosure. The L shape would be due to where the window in the room is and I was told that the natural light was good to help regulate their sleep cycles, I know all about the furnishings, features, and fixtures that are necessary inside the enclosure. Such as the substrate, water area, climbing opportunities, lamps/lights, etc.
My first thought was an enclosure made mostly of PVC and wood, with a thick, spiding plexiglass door, and window(s) made of that same plexiglass. Any openings will have strong locks.
As far as the space I have available goes, It's not an issue, there's practically a whole empty medium-large bedroom just waiting for this animal.
(If you respond with advice or criticism, please state the qualifications you have to speak on the subject, like experience with pets, working as a breeder, general enthusiast, the works!)
