Hello! I turned 18 in December, but I am currently a full-time high school student. I believe that my grandmother (legal mother) is claiming social security on me despite me no longer having any contact with her, and not living in her house. I tried to call the SSA number but their business hours aren't on the weekend, so this is a last resort. I have a few questions, first, how can I be sure that she is still claiming social security from me? Second, if she is, is there any way that I could transfer the recipients of the benefits to my legal father and step-mom? I don't want the money for myself, but as I am living with them I feel like they deserve to get the money instead of my grandmother who I no longer have contact with. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
