TBH - I'll probably skip Jasper

Hey Guys,

I'm from Germany and we are planning/booking a Road Trip through West Canada in July 2027.

Starting in Vancouver -> Whistler -> Clearwater and next Step would be Jasper

But these Hotel Prices are insane?!

800 $CAD or 500€ is the cheapest option for 2 Rooms at a cheap Hotel. AirBnB doesn't exist. Don't forget I'm planning one year ahead. This is not a 5* Hotel...

It's not the case that I'm not willing to leave some money in Canada, the Trip will cost us about 20k EUR or 32k CAD. But hey, it has to be at least a reasonable price/performance ratio.

Vancouver, Whistler and Clearwater have good options to stay for a good price.

Only other option I'm seeing to reduce the costs for Jasper NP a little bit is by staying in Hinton, but that means we have to drive everyday at least 3hours + I don't know how much for parking (if it's even available). And I like to drive, but this is not comfortable.

So I'm really thinking about skipping Jasper or just using it as waypoint as a day tourist.

Next step will be Banff but I'm afraid it's the same. Afterwards Revelstoke and then Kelowna before heading back to Seattle and taking our flight to Germany.

Thanks guys you are awesome. I didn't expect so much response. Please excuse my little rant. You guys have been really respectful and I love that.

I've learned about the Fire and I'm very sorry for everyone who was damaged by that. I'm more comfortable right now with staying in Hinton and support the Restaurants when in Jasper.

The hint with Jasper Inn and Suites has a 4-bed (2 bedroom) is also a good option. We might think about it. Since we are in CA for 3,5 Weeks it's always a good option to have a Washing Machine.

RV is not an option. Also Camping is not preffered, since I don't like the idea of buying all the stuff (Tents, Mats, Sleeping Bags etc.) and leave it in CA.

I may have one more question.

Since we have 3 full days my plan is like that right now

18.07. 1st Day When departing from Clearwater -> Mount Robson Provincial Park (maybe a little Hike), Rearguard Falls, Overlander Falls

19.07. 2nd Day Maligne Valley
Short Stopp at Medicine Lake
Maligne Canyon (if open)
Maligne Lake
Mary Schäffer Loop as a Hike

20.07. 3rd Day
Valley of the Five Lakes + Jasper and Pyramid Lake

21.07. 4th Day
Flexible Right now

22.07. 5th Day
Heading to Canmore
Athabasca Falls
Sunwapta Falls
Glacier/Columbia Icefield
Saskatchewan Crossing
Lake Louise
Arriving in Canmore

Do I miss anything important?
Someone mentioned Hot Springs. Do you mean Miette Hot Springs? Looks to me like a outdoor swimming pool.

Camper88 mentioned Abraham Lake, Kootenay Plains, Crescent Falls. Should I switch Lake Louise out for that and doing it when staying in Canmore?

Which Pub for England Norway?

Hey Guys we are in Skipton from Germany for a few Days on Holiday Road Trip and would love to see the Match between England and Norway.

Could you suggest a Pub for my father in law and me having a Beer and watching the Game?
