Passport renewal appointment rescheduling.
My passport had expired in March 2026. I have submitted the application and booked an appointment for renewing the passport in Birmingham, UK, on June 1, but I have to leave for India on June 6.
Although the application is submitted as Tatkal, I do not expect to receive my passport within one week. I am seeing slots opening up in these weeks in May itself, but I can't book because I already have an appointment booked for June 1st.
I am thinking about cancelling the appointment for June 1st, and when a slot opens up before that book it. But my fear is, what if i cancelled it and never got another slot opened before that,
Is there a 24-hour cooldown to book again after cancellation on the HCILondon website?
is it very common to get these slots open now and then? Please share your thoughts. Is there anything i can do as a plan B. Good day
