Thoughts

My son is 13 and we’ve homeschooled since he was 5. I’ve noticed throughout this last year that if I’m not sitting next to him, he kind of lingers doing his schoolwork. If I sit next to him, he’s much faster and seems more interested.

How do I help him become more independent in his learning? He’s going to 8th grade this year and high school is coming up very soon. I am concerned about his independent learning, maybe I shouldn’t be? Not sure. Just trying to see if you all have any insight.

Just to note: He doesn’t have any learning difficulties, he’s a competitive chess player and he’s more of an analytical thinker. Math is his strongest subject.
