NDA 2 written examination material help

I'm actually very new to this sub (my 2nd post here).

I didn't give my NDA-1 because it was clashing with my another entrance examination. Now that I've passed 12th, I really want to try and clear the written of NDA 2. (having avg-decent board level prep)

Therefore, I am planning on buying books for solving. Google is recommending Arihant's Pathfinder for NDA.

Kindly tell if this material is good for prep. or not/

Can suggest better material(s), if you have any knowledge.

Please help 🙏🙏

TES criteria and chances?

I've got 80% in 12th boards. But 6.2 L rank in JEE Mains.

I have very less idea about TES via NDA.

Kindly tell if I have any chance in TES, in any way or not

Mechanical in Thapar or CS from Tier3 clg?

got alloted mechanical engineering via JEE Score (Gen-P) [Real low score in Mains].

I have option of either joining mech here or CS in Tier 3 colleges like CU/SRM type.

I don't have any specific interests, but I don't want to lean on CS, cause of the AI thing and oversaturation. But, everyone (neighbours and relatives are saying for CS branch), since jobs and packages are more there.

Seniors, your insights would be really helpful.

Mech placements

Please answer the following questions:

  1. What are the top companies that come in TIET for MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (i.e. having the highest placements).
  2. What is the syllabus of mechanical branch? [Pdf/ Link preferred] (in official site, it is not mentioned, and auto moderator has link of 2024. If 2025 one is available, kindly give that)
  3. What is the median placement of Mech branch (9.7 L avg for this branch is given in the vercel app link. Is it true?)

Seniors in Mechanical, please help 🙏🙏

Is mechanical possible?

Got just above in 60 percentile in JEE Mains. Expecting around 70 percentage in PXM (X = IT) in boards. (GENERAL-PUNJAB)

What is my chance (low/by luck/moderate/high/possible) to get into:

  1. Mechanical Engineering branch

  2. Chemical Engineering branch, in Thapar.

(I am trying only for these two branches)

Since, CBSE board results have not dropped, so I cannot call the insti. directly for asking the cut confirmation.

Therefore, I am asking at this sub. kindly answer to the best of knowledge.

Thank you.

Mechanical admission and coursework doubt

Expecting around 70% in P + M + IT. I have Punjab quota.

Can get probably Cat. 4 in VIT Vellore (mechanical, not CS). Slight chance of IT branch in JIIT (via boards). Not getting anything at all via JEE Mains.

I've heard good reviews of mechanical branch in TIET.

Seniors please answer my following questions:

  1. Can I get mechanical branch (since it is mentioned in brochure direct admission via boards)

  2. What is the median package for mechanical engineering (vercel tracker is showing for all branches (including CS), not branch- wise

  3. Coursework and placement scope between Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics (some are suggesting

  4. How are the professors in mechanical engineering department.

  5. Is the branch allotted during counselling, or do I have to call the insti., to register myself for mech. branch (since direct admission is mentioned)

I've read early all posts related to mechanical in this sub and in the official site. However, only vague and/or outdated replies are available in this sub regarding core branches.

Kindly help and reply to the best of your knowledge 🙏🙏

Have received admission letter for SNU (Shiv Nadar University, in Delhi NCR). The offered branch is Chemical Engineering.

My other options are Manipal Jaipur CSE and TIET Mechanical engineering (via boards marks, if possible).

Though I still have COMEDK pending, but I'll have to make a decision in about a week itself (since SNU's offer letter will become nil by them)

Therefore, please me out by helping me chose the best possible branch and college for B. Tech.

MUJ CSE vs SNU Chemical vs Thapar Mechanical.

Kindly help.

Hello all, in the brochure provided in the official site for TIET, the total cost of Core branches is given as around 26 Lakhs (for complete 4 years). I have included tuition fees + Hostel charges + mess charges, as provided in the brochure for calculation.

My query is that are there any hidden charges or money that the management takes from the students later after or during the admission process.

Kindly help and reply to the best of your knowledge.

Hello all,

I am interested in joining Mechanical branch of TIET (General-Punjab). Kindly answer my following queries regarding admission to the best of your knowledge:

  1. Is admission possible through boards/ JEE Mains in these branches via my expected marks (given at the end)

  2. Which subjects are to be considered for boards criteria.

  3. Are there any other Branches available at this score?

I have scrolled through this sub, but not found any specifically helpful post regarding these 2 branches.

My stats (including unreleased expected ones):

JEE Mains: 65 percentile

PCM: 65%; P, M, Vocational subject: 70% ; Best 5: 82%.

I'm not asking for any confirmation regarding seats, but I am curious to know whether I have a chance in these branches.

Kindly help.
