switching accompanying family visa after turning 18
Hey everyone,
I’m hoping to get some advice or hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
I originally moved to Denmark when I was under 18 as an accompanying family member attached to my dad's permit. Since then, I’ve turned 18. I still live at home with my parents, but this time around, we need to apply for my permit as an accompanying family member to my mom instead of my dad.
Because I am now over 18, I’m really worried that my request will be rejected, since "child" visas usually apply to minors.
- Has anyone over 18 successfully applied as a dependent/accompanying family member to a parent?
- Are there specific requirements I should look out for?
Any help, advice, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
