Acting class recommendations for an autistic actor in Los Angeles
Hi! I am a 20 year old autistic actor in Los Angeles hoping to find acting class recommendations. I think being autistic as an actor can be a great thing, but I also can struggle with the intensity of my emotions and connection to my work, as well as feeling isolated and misunderstood by other actors and instructors. I really want a class that is more supportive of me as a person, not just an actor, and that would maybe be more understanding of my autism. I am an adult and have worked professionally in acting for 3 years now, and I know I can handle this industry and I can handle acting. I just want to find a community that feels safer and more welcoming, and also doesn’t see me as less competent or not a professional due to my autism. I would love to find a place where I can make friends, trust and connect with teachers, and of course be pushed as an actor. Honestly, I just want to have more fun with acting as well as work hard. If anyone has any recommendations, I would really appreciate them!
