9 month later life and debt payoff update.

I had posted on here a year or so ago asking for help and mostly just accepting that I had gotten myself into a dumb situation.
After I posted that, I ended up getting pulled over after drinking and got charged with a DWAI. Much better than being charged with a dui or dwi, and only a violation rather than a crime but it cost me about 10k in lawyer fees, fines, and program costs.

I had to take a real serious look at my mental, physical and financial health.
I’ve completely turned my life around! I drink less now than ever before. Only once or twice a week, if that. And finally feel happy and healthy again.
I’ve been working like crazy to get my debt under control, and am currently training for my second sprint triathlon. I haven’t felt this in control of my life in years.
September was the height of my debt, with 33k in credit card debt and an additional 8k in a personal loan.

I’m down to $22.5k in credit card debt and 5.5k on that personal loan.

It has been quite the journey! I am working with a budget and luckily have been able to pick up as much work as I can, only ending up with 1 day off a month. I’m looking forward to getting this further under control so I can work a bit less. Super proud of my progress so far.
I’ve kept this pretty under wraps in my personal life. My boyfriend is the only one who knows the true extent of where I was at but you guys have been such a helpful and supportive community.
Can’t wait to report back when I’m debt free!
