Visa denied after end of Pareja de hecho

Hey everyone! Quick question to see if anyone has any experience with appealing a denied visa modification after the dissolution of pareja de hecho.

I had a visa through pareja de hecho from August 2022 through December 2025. After the dissolution, I applied to maintained my visa independently of my ex-partner. In order to do so, I had to present the volant de conviviencia showing that we had been partnered for three years after the pareja de hecho approval.

When I requested this document from the local Ayuntamiento, I learned that my padron had been cancelled in December of 2022 due to "administrative" reasons. Our original padron was created in October 2020. I am a non-EU resident, so this I have come to find out is normal. However, I was never notified that I needed a new padron and I am still not padroned as I only found out a month ago.

I had a work contract from June 2023-October 2023, and I am now autonomo, up to date on all my SS contributions since June 2024. I have three years of declaration de renta. I am still in the same apartment and have countless documents that show this.

I spoke to two lawyers who said I have missed the window (90 days) to apply for modification to cuenta propia. The last lawyer suggested that my best bet is to apply as an "irregular person" in this Mass Regularization situation which is not ideal due to the timeframe and also the need to renew after one year.

I am a bit shocked that not only can I not appeal this and show that even though I was not padroned, I was still in the apartment, paying taxes, etc. but I may now be considered irregular for the past three years! This means I need to start the clock over to become a permanent resident and may loose out on my SS contributions?

I also find it incredible that due to the time to get responses/documents from the Ayuntamiento/extranjeria, I have missed out on modifying my visa completely?

Has anyone had any success with appealing such situations?

Other details

- I originally arrived in Spain on a NLV in 2019 and was on that through 2022 before switching to pareja de hecho.

- my ex-partner is no longer in the EU, but I still receive mail including tax bills to this address.
