Dramione popularity is such a shock to me as an old fan.
Ok so i have been in hp fandom since 2016. The fandom was alwz crazy abt ships( i don't blame them.i mean look at the material). i was an avid wattpad, ffn,ao3 user. And dramione was fairly popular. But i remember drarry was like a wall in terms of popularity compared to other hp ships. Now i would like to clarify that i am a neutral reader. I read fics of many ships in the fandom and ship wars never bothered me. So as a reader i alwz observed that drarry's popularity was quite absymal. However, i got over my hp phase and started exploring other fandoms. Recently the hp girlie in me was feeling nostalgic. So after years, i decided to deep dive again and imagin my surprise when i found out how overwhelmingly popular dramione became..like i don't even see that much drarry nowadays. I want to know if this popularity shift was sudden. If drarry regressed or dramione just had a boom in popularity? Also so many dramione books are getting published into books..so booktok girlies might be a factor. But still i remember drarry had a huge amount of active shippers.. I wasn't in the fandom anymore in 2020, so i could be wrong but even in covid times, i remember drarry being so ahead from what i could tell by observing from afar. So i don't know how this occured tbh. however, i don't want people to misunderstand me as a drarry shipper. I am just an hp fan who reads abt almost all ships except the wolfstar(not my cup of tea sorry😭), any ships involving student× teacher relationship. Thats all
