27M with unexpectedly high cholesterol despite being lean, active and a non-smoker

Hi people -

Looking for thoughts before I follow up with a cardiologist.
I recently had a private non-fasting lipid profile come back with:

Total cholesterol: 7.11 mmol/L
HDL: 1.4 mmol/L
Non-HDL: 5.7 mmol/L
Triglycerides: 2.5 mmol/L
TC/HDL ratio: 5.08

For context, I’m:
Male, 27
186 cm / 70 kg
BMI ~20
Exercise regularly
Non-smoker
Drink maybe 3 pints a week
No known family history of premature heart disease
Father has higher-than-normal cholesterol and is a smoker

I also found a previous non-fasting lipid profile from November 2023:
Total cholesterol: 5.5 mmol/L
HDL: 1.5 mmol/L
Non-HDL: 4.0 mmol/L
Triglycerides: 1.2 mmol/L
TC/HDL ratio: 3.67

One thing that may be relevant is that the recent test was taken around 5pm and I had probably eaten lunch 1 to 4 hours beforehand. The 2023 test was also non-fasting.
My current thinking is to get a fasting lipid profile plus ApoB, Lipoprotein(a) and thyroid function (TSH), but I’m interested in whether others have seen a jump like this that turned out to be largely explained by non-fasting timing, diet, genetics, or something else.

For those who have had elevated cholesterol despite being lean and active:
What ended up being the cause?
Did ApoB or Lp(a) provide useful answers?
How different were your fasting vs non-fasting results?

Appreciate any thoughts. :)
