Okay - here me out lol
I’ve loved the movie since I was a child and equally love the live action
But something dawned on me awhile back and I wanna know if I’m right or if I’ve watched to much law and order
The deal with Ursula and Ariel
Ursula will turn Ariel into a human for 3 days - per contract if she does not obtain true loves kiss by sunset on the 3rd day she will turn back into a mermaid and belong to Ursula - payment in exchange for these services was Ariel’s voice
During the wedding fiasco when Ariel shows up - Ursula’s necklace broke returning Ariel’s voice (payment) to her - before the sunset on the 3rd day
Now if I’m not mistaken - that would be a refund for services and Ariel is no longer bound by the contract as her payment was returned to her - or maybe I have to much time on my hands lol
