The Most Valuable Thing I’ve Learned About Building a Brand

When I started building my business, I thought success would come from having the perfect product.

The perfect recipe.
The perfect website.
The perfect packaging.
The perfect pitch.

What I’ve learned is that while all of those things matter, people ultimately connect with people.

Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to showcase my products at luxury wellness events, celebrity gifting suites, media experiences, and industry gatherings. I’ve met actors, founders, executives, investors, and some of the most connected people in business.

What surprised me most wasn’t their titles.

It was their generosity.

The people who have opened doors for me did not do so because I had the biggest company, the largest audience, or the deepest pockets.

They responded to consistency.

They responded to authenticity.

They responded to showing up again and again with a genuine desire to learn, contribute, and build meaningful relationships.

As a founder of a luxury wellness brand, I spend a lot of time talking about ingredients, product development, distribution, retail expansion, and growth strategy. Those things are important.

But behind every opportunity is a relationship.

A conversation.

An introduction.

A moment where someone decides they believe in your vision.

Today, Eme’s Baked Goodness is expanding into new platforms, new partnerships, and new opportunities. We are growing beyond products into media, education, storytelling, and thought leadership.

Yet the lesson remains the same:

Success is not built alone.

The most powerful rooms are filled with people who are willing to share knowledge, make introductions, and help others succeed.

My goal is to do the same.

To continue creating products that bring people together.

To continue sharing what I’m learning as an entrepreneur.

And to continue building a business rooted in excellence, wellness, creativity, and genuine connection.

Because in the end, people may discover your product.

But they remember your story.

What is one relationship, introduction, or conversation that changed the trajectory of your career or business? I’d love to hear your story.
