Looking for genuine advice

Hi everyone!

I am currently thinking of opening a small business in China. I was thinking of opening a pet care business, but it seems a bit challenging.

I am looking for something profitable that doesn't require a massive budget. Based on my initial research, I found that services/foreign products are the only possible ways for foreigners.

I would appreciate it if you could give any insights, advice, or even warnings for someone who's thinking of opening a business in China.

Non native looking for a teaching vacancy in China.

I am currently looking for a teaching position in China. I hold a master’s degree in English Language and Culture, a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature, and a 120-hour TESOL certificate.

I have been teaching in Vietnam for the past four years. I take pride in doing my job well and truly enjoy working with young children. I am aware of the challenges that non-native English-speaking teachers often face when applying for teaching roles in China.

However, I have previously received a work permit notification letter for a position in a third-tier city in China.

Any recommendations/ referrals will be much appreciated.

Nightmarish situation British Education Zhanjiang

I got an offer from a training center in Zhanjiang City two months ago. After the interview, I was offered a contract, signed it, and started working on legalizing my non-criminal certificate, which took a lot of time and money.

A month later, I received the work permit notification letter, applied for a Z visa, and got it. But once I informed them, they told me to wait until classes resumed after the holiday (May 1-5).

After the holiday, I was told they were no longer interested in hiring me! I had already resigned from my job, left my apartment, and sold my motorbike!

I still can't understand this whole situation. I am in complete shock, and I really don't know what to do now!

I will receive my Z visa next week, but my employer is skeptical and has asked me to wait to arrange a suitable plan, as the process has taken too long and the parents can't wait anymore.

Is it true that parents usually get angry if the foreign teacher takes too much time to arrive?
