I read a book over 15 years ago I still think about today and would love to read it again. It was about this girl who awoke after being in a car accident to find she was not in her own body. Now poor and disabled, the main character is determined to get her life back. She decides to try and play along until she makes contact with herself, which is now the other girl, to try and solve this problem. However, the other girl is happy in her new life and does not want to switch back.
In the end, the main character has a vision or dream that if the two girls jumped off a cliff at the same moment as a bird was flying by that they would switch bodies and the problem would be solved. They end up doing it, but after surfacing the water they realize they did not switch bodies and the story ended there.
I've tried searching myself and had no luck, so I came here to ask. Hopefully someone out there can recall, thank you!
