Should I and can I switch my program in first year?

Hi everyone, I got accepted into Humanities because I originally planned on doing Cognitive Science (BA) since I really enjoyed psychology in Grade 11. But now that I’m in Grade 12, I’ve realized I actually really enjoy biology too, and I currently have a 94 in it.

The problem is that I didn’t take chemistry or any math courses like calculus or advanced functions. I’m thinking about taking some life sciences courses in my first year and then potentially switching into Molecular Genetics in my second year.

I’m not terrible at math, but I’m wondering if it would be worth taking chemistry and calculus/functions before trying to make the switch. Has anyone done something similar or have advice on how realistic this path is?
