Red vs Teru Momijiyama (Pokémon vs SHY) | 'Fierce Legends'

Connections [W.I.P]

=The two of them are young and heroic protagonists of franchises that combine mother settings with fantastical elements, where there are staple elements people use for characteristic professions of their worlds (Pokémon, where people who have Pokémon become Trainers of different kind and SHY where people who have Heart use Heart-Shift Bracelets to channel their power and become heroes) with the two of them having certain aspects of their personalities being their core elements in their overall characterizations and their drive towards their goals into helping others in times of danger (Red is someone silent and stoic, he believes that actions speak louder than words, which is something he demonstrate across his journey through Kanto meanwhile Teru, as her hero name says, is extremely shy and has trouble dealing with crowds and people in general but despite that she manages to surpass this to help others and keep saving people)

=The two of them have rather humble beginnings, they would end up starting their adventures since their youth with a wise old man being one of the main motivators as well as very important parts for the start of their journey and into doing what they do now (Red was a young man from Pallet Town being given his Starter Pokémon by Professor Oak, with him guiding him through a journey to complete the Pokédex and become the very best meanwhile Teru was a shy girl who isolated herself after her sister's death, with her grandfather being the one who inspired Teru into believing in the bond of other people and moving forward, something she used in her hero career) they would go and join a staple profession of their world, and to do so they would end up using a staple element of their world, this same element actually themed around elemental powers (Red would go onto becoming a Pokémon Trainer and is depicted as choosing either Charmander, Pikachu or Bulbasaur as his starter/Teru would end up becoming a heroine with her power, or Heart, being Flame, her fierce side manifesting through flames that come out of her hands)

=The two of them are guided by more experienced people than them, people who also hold important positions in their worlds as well as having rather eccentric traits to them, but it doesn't diminish the influence they had on this protagonists being their mentors and closed people to them (In Red's case it would be Professor Oak, the one who kickstarted Red's journey and gave him the Pokédex to fulfill, monitoring his progress and in Shy's case it would be Spirit who act like a big sister towards Shy and also has acts like Shy's mentor in her career as a heroine) and the two of them would end up receiving something that they would carry in their adventures by a very important figure yet still a bit eccentric to their world who would see potential in them (Red was given his starter Pokémon by Professor Oak who sent him to complete the Pokédex and Shy was given her Heart-Shift Bracelets courtesy of Unilord, which help her into concentrating her powers)

=The two of them are friends with people who have known them for a long time, this same people actually have the same opposite personalities as them, being more outgoing and loud than this protagonists as well as following the same kind of careers as them (In Red's case it would be his childhood friend and rival Blue Oak who, like Red, wanted to be a Pokémon Trainer and is a Battle Tree admin alongside him and in Shy's case it would be Iko, a girl Shy saved in the past and who would also become a heroine under the alias of Shadow Girl) this same individuals having the protagonists as important part of their character arcs as well as being important parts in this protagonist's journey, with this friends also supporting them in their professions (Blue became Red's rival, always trying to be a step further than him, after being defeated it's when his character start to be less of a jerk, he also goes with Red to important events like the Battle Tree or PWT, Iko wished she could actually help Teru, she actually resolves to do the same thing Teru does and that allows her to become an heroine, she also supports Teru in any way she can in her job as a hero)

=The two of them are very altruistic people who help others because they want to and because it's the right thing to do, for example they are very willing to throw themselves at the face of danger if there are people or places that need help which actually gives them quiet the reputation in their world (Red is willing to drive Team Rocket off from Mt. Moon on his own as well as getting inside Silph. Co when it was taken over by them meanwhile Teru, despite being insecure about herself is good at her hero job, even when she was retired she entered a burning building to save a mother and her child as well as helping Iko when she was corrupted) and the two of them go through a journey relating to learning how to properly do what they do best as well as the bonds they do through this and (Red not only becoming stronger as a Pokémon trainer but also learning about them through completing the Pokédex as well as learning how to bond with them and raising them with care meanwhile Shy would growth both in power and in character, learning how to bring out her will often described as a small but indomitable will)

=The two of them oppose a ruthless and shady criminal organizations that plague their worlds who even use other important businesses for their ambitions as well as not caring for the well beings of others and using the staple elements of their worlds for their criminal acts (In Red's case it would be Team Rocket, a villainous team in pursuit of evil and the exploitation of Pokémon, its main focus is stealing or capturing rare and strong Pokémon, and subsequently selling them, it also funds and conducts cruel experimental research on Pokémon or even killing them and in Teru's case it would be The Amarariruku, a group of mysterious children that Shine failed to save, and ultimately passed on have their whole existence linked to a Made in Heart ring, which are only fully materialized after their death) and the two of them even confronted the leader of this same organizations, charismatic, ruthless and collected antagonists who have a twisted vision for the staple elements of their worlds (Red would end up facing Giovanni, Leader of Team Rocket and Teru would end up facing Stigma, the Leader of Amarariruku).

=The staple elements that they use are actually tied to their characters and how they actually develop in the professions they showed, specifically the care and development they received through their journey (Red is shown to be both loyal to his Pokémon and his cause, and seen by the fact that he always has the three potential first partner Pokémon with him, indicating whichever Pokémon he chose first has remained with him and Teru/Shy's Heart-Shift Bracelet works like the others, source of power is the user's heart, therefore, if they don't put their heart into it, the user won't be able to transform, and Shy's special ability is Flame, her fierce side and indomitable will) speaking of growth this also shown in a special abilities that help them in battle and is actually awakened thanks to emotional aspects, as well as the bonds they have with the ones they cared for (Red managed to awaken Mega Evolution in his starters, with Mega Evolution being stated to be possible thanks to the bond one had with their Pokémon, meanwhile Shy awakened her special ability just after remembering that there are people that will always be alongside her during the battle with Stardust)

=The two of them during their journey actually went directly into the heart of an operation lead by the same criminal organizations they had to stop to help the people inside the places that this villains were keeping them (Red infiltrating Silph Co after Team Rocket took over the place, saving the workers and scientists inside meanwhile Shy and her team would go inside the dome Amarariruku dropped to help the people trapped inside of it) and the two of them as an another heroic act would actually end up helping female figures who got really screwed over by this same organizations and were lashing out because of it, with them managing to calm them down (Red helping the Ghost of Marowak, the one who got killed by Team Rocket, to calm her rage and finally rest in peace and Teru helping Iko Koishikawa after Stigma forcefully put a Made in Heart ring on her and corrupted her, helping her go back to normal)

Connections

=The two of them are powerful and blonde tritagonists of widely recognized entertainment franchises from Japan, settings in modern worlds yet containing a lot of fantastical and supernatural elements, the works they come from and debuted are also among the most recognized pieces of media on modern times (Cynthia is a character from the Gen 4 games, who were released in 2008 and All Might is one of the main characters of My Hero Academia, which was published in 2014) both of this same works also being actually from the late 2000s and then having a rise in popularity in recent times/years which would have mixed reactions, specifically in the 2020s (Pokémon Pearl, Diamond and Platinum being released in 2008 and then having its remakes released Brilliant in 2021 and Kohei Horikoshi tested My Hero Academia ideas in a One-Shot called "My Hero" that was in Winter 2008, with the last chapter of MHA being released in 2024)

=The two of them are part of a special group of people of great reputation of their world, being among the best ones of their countries, one of the staple professions of their series that has some of the most experienced warriors with several of them specializing in something (Cynthia is not only a Pokémon Trainer but also a member of the Elite Four of Sinnoh meanwhile All Might is a professional hero from Japan entering among the highest in the ranking), the two of them are not only among the best in their ranks, they are at the very top of their ranks in their respective countries, being among the strongest in their worlds thanks to their deeds and their efforts receiving important titles due to that, they are also very famous both in-universe due to their positions (Cynthia is the Champion of Sinnoh, being the last challenge of the Sinnoh League being even invited to stuff like the PWT, where the Champions of each region battle to see who is the strongest or the Battle Tree due to her prowess meanwhile All Might is the Number 1 Hero and Symbol of Peace in Japan, inspiring almost an entire generation to become heroes, always swamped by reporters and fans because of how popular and famous he is)

=The two of them would end up meeting the protagonist during the early stages of their adventures, a young warrior with a humble beginning yet has big ambitions and have a heart of gold, they would end up taking an interest in this same protagonists due to what drives them forward in their adventures (In Cynthia's case it would be Hikari/Kouki who were just starting their adventures, meeting them in Eterna City and taking an interest in them due to having a Pokédex meanwhile Toshinori would end up meeting Izuku during the Entrance Exam Arc, during which he would see Izuku's bravery and genuine desire to save others while saving Bakugo deciding to make him his successor) and they would end up giving a gift to this same protagonists, this gift is very popular in their series being one of the staple elements of this but also this same gifts would be something this same warriors would have, something they would have to train using the teachings they get (Cynthia giving Hikari/Kouki a Togepi Egg, giving the opportunity of the protagonists to have a Togekiss just like her meanwhile All Might would give One For All to Izuku, giving him the opportunity to become a hero like him)

=They would fit the Hero of Another History trope because in the past they also went through a journey of hardships to become what they are today, not only that but when they were younger they followed the exact same path as the protagonists of their worlds would have done years later (Various comments from her and Professor Rowan indicate that when Cynthia was given a Pokédex and went on a journey that culiminated in her becoming Champion, just like Hikari/Kouki, meanwhile All Might was once Quirkless but by showing that he wants to make a better world as well as give people a Symbol of Peace he convinced Nana to take him as a successor, just like he would do with Izuku) and the two of them would have been guided by a very experienced yet stern old man who knows quite a few things about the staples of this worlds but tend to have a intimidating presence, same old men would then guide the protagonists too (In Cynthia's case it would be Professor Rowan who sent her on a journey and in Toshinori's case it would be Gran Torino who trained Yagi after Nana's death)

=The two of them would end up helping the protagonists, acting as their guides through their journey, teaching them important lessons as well as directly helping this same people, supporting them in their path on being the very best (Cynthia entrusts Hikari/Kouki with an egg to take care off, she gives them a secret potion for them to cure the Psyducks that block their path and teaches them about Sinnoh mythology to complete their Pokédex/All Might acts as a mentor to Izuku, teaching him all about One For All, training him and being his teacher in UA as well as taking him with important people like David Shield) the two of them also adopt some kind of familiar kind of relationship with their respective 'proteges', acting more akin to a family member, and they even approve of this same protagonists into taking their places, showing interest in the future generations having a good path (Cynthia not only is a big sister she acts like one to the Gen 4 protagonists as well as becoming happy that they become a Champion while Toshinori has a fatherly attitude towards his students (his successor Izuku, in particular) and takes pride in helping their development as future Heroes)

=The two of them also are the ones to investigate about the forces that shaped their worlds since a really long time, as well as having a lot of interest with the ones who wielded this forces and knowing the secrets this things have (In Cynthia's case she would be an avid researcher in Sinnoh Mythology, as well as the Pokémon who shaped the universe, even going to the Sinjoh ruins to investigate about Arceus/Toshinori would make sure to investigate about One For All, one of the Quirks who shaped the world of heroes as well as trying to know more about the previous users like Nana Shimura and others to teach Izuku) both of them utilize staple elements of their worlds, this ones specifically are iconic to this characters as well as iconic to their franchises, which is something that add to their characterizations because this same elements not only are not easy to obtain but to they are hard to train, something they had to go through (Cynthia's team is composed of Pokémon like Garchomp Milotic, Lucario, Spiritomb, Braviary and other Pokémon who are either hard to obtain or raise/All Might's Quirk is One For All, and he had to go through a lot of training with Nana and Gran Torino to control it as it can damage the user if it's not strong enough)

=The two of them would help give their support against a team of villains who plagued their homes, groups who committed acts of terrorism in their worlds as well as having rather extremist views on how the world must be shaped (In Cynthia's case it would be Team Galactic who wanted recreate the universe per Cyrus orders to make a world without emotions and in Toshinori's case it would be the League of Villains who believed that society was rotten and the heroes were the cause, so they wanted to create a "better" society), the two of them would also personally step up against this criminal organizations right after this ones dared to attack important places of their worlds and were putting innocent people in danger with their terrorist acts (Cynthia decided to directly intervene against Team Galactic after they tried planting a bomb in Celestic Town as well as their attack on Lake Valor meanwhile All Might had to go directly to face the League of Villains after this ones attacked the Wild Wild Pussycats camp and kidnapped Bakugo)

=The two of them would be right there in the final battle against this same group of villains, giving their support and allowing the main characters to finally defeat the threats to their world (Cynthia would work alongside Barry and Hikari/Kouki to fight off Team Plasma in Mt. Coronet, going with the protagonist to the Distortion World as they face Cyrus meanwhile All Might would fight alongside his students against All For One and the LoV in the Final War arc, fighting All For One himself to give the others a chance), the two of them also have other people in high positions that share their professions trying to surpass them, this same people actually are the second strongest in their rankings, but despite their best efforts they can't surpass this same heroes (In Pokémon Masters, Lucian notes that he's tried to beat Cynthia multiple times, but has been unable to do so, leaving him as only the second best trainer in Sinnoh compared to her meanwhile in Toshinori's case it's Endeavor the one who is always second to All Might even after trying for decades to surpass him, something Endeavor can't stand)

=The two of them would also end up stepping down from their positions, and that's another thing that characterizes them, despite not being at the top they actually are quite hopeful for the protagonists to follow their dreams, at the same time they would end up stepping down from their places after an epic and climatic battle from their stories (Cynthia stepping down of his place as a Champion after the protagonist defeated her, allowing them to take her place as the new Champions of their worlds and All Might retiring after his battle against All For One, stepping down from his place as the Number 1 Hero and telling Izuku that now it's his turn) and another important part of their characters is how they take their own retirements allowing the future generations to live on, with them hoping that their legacies live on (In Pokémon Masters, in her Trainer's Lodge conversation Cynthia says that Champions are meant to be replaced by someone stronger eventually, though she still hopes that her achievements up until then will go down in history meanwhile All Might was worried that people were losing faith on heroes but Stain showed him that there are people that still believe in him and his message, showing that what he did wasn't in vain)

=Despite their reputations as very formidable and strong warriors of their worlds there are more to them, they tend to have a more relaxed and sometimes silly side to them that they let out in their private lives (Cynthia not only tend to get sidetracked talking about myths but also she has been called messy, her house is said to be in disarray full of research papers meanwhile Toshinori tend to be a bit socially awkward, he will always announce loudly when he arrives to a place and even has his own voice as a ringtone for his cellphone) the two of them are also friends with other important people from their world, even with people abroad their countries who they are very close with as well as being allowed to visit them from time to time (In Cynthia's case it would be Caitlin, a member of Unova's E4 and in Toshinori's case it would be David Shield, genius inventor who create items for professional heroes) and the two at one point were invited at important places in their world where important events for other important people to attend would take place (Cynthia was invited to the Battle Tree in Unova and Toshinori going to I-Island for the famous I-Expo)
