Need some feedback on a couple of exterior projects at my place in SF. Trying to see if I can realistically do this without getting permits involved.

I want to:
* Move the garage door frame forward about 2 feet so it closes further out.
* Build a small detached shed for bikes/tools.

I know a shed under 120 sq ft and 10 ft high is fine without a permit here. But what about the garage door? Moving the framing out 2 feet changes the exterior, so I'm guessing DBI will care.

Has anyone done something similar in the city? Any workarounds to get the extra garage space without triggering a massive permit process?
