Working Wildfire While Being Home Often

I have been wanting to join BCWS for many years and have built a strong resume with EMR, OFA3, trades experience, extensive backcountry experience, etc. My only problem now is that I am only 18 and have quite overprotective parents. Going away for two nights for a backpacking trip is a big deal currently so there is no way I can be gone for a whole fire season. Is there any way to do wildfire while being away from home for at most 1-2 weeks at a time? I'm not against contract work as long as I still get some deployments. Has anyone here done something similar, or are there any contractors in the Lower Mainland or Sea-to-Sky that would make this possible? For reference I live in Vancouver.

Edit:

Thanks everyone for the advice. Probably gonna join anyways my parents are gonna hate me but they can't kick me out if I'm already leaving I guess.

UBC Sauder 3rd Year Transfer

Is it possible to transfer from SFU Beedie to UBC Sauders third year? One of the required courses is COMM 190 but I do not see an SFU equivalent. On the BC Transfer Guide COMM 190 and 191 both transfer to BUS 232 from UBC to SFU but BUS 232 only transfers to COMM 191 when going from SFU to UBC.

Sky Pilot Lost Item + Conditions

I lost my bear spray on the way to Sky Pilot today I believe at Stadium Glacier. I was glissading down and likely forgot to fasten it in place. I believe it was at the first small incline part of the glacier as you go towards Sky Pilot but could also be at the last long steep section. I was the last one up there today so if anyone is going up there tomorrow or in the following days I would greatly appreciate it if you keep and eye out. If anyone finds it I am putting up a prize of one dozen Duffins Donuts (ik its not much but buying gear is hard enough as a broke uni student).

Side note:
If anyone has questions about trail conditions feel free to ask.

Armchair Traverse in July

I'm currently planning an overnight stay at Wedgemount Lake to do the Armchair Traverse and I was wondering what time of conditions I should expect around mid July. I'm mostly worried about snow as I haven't been up there any earlier than mid August.

BCMC Liability Waiver

Recently tried signing up for the BCMC, however, I was not able to sign the liability waiver as I am 18. I emailed BCMC about a month ago but have yet to get a response. Does anyone know how I can join as a minor?
