Hi everyone! This may not be the right subreddit for this post but I just need an unbiased/ousider’s perspective. I mived in August and it’s been very hard to make actual friends. I would consider myself above average in looks, intelligence and income.
I’ve met tons of people because I moved for school, got involved and held leadership positions at many clubs, student government member, almost perfect GPA and active in classes; yet only made one friend.
The main reason for my lack of friends has been the lifestyle of most people I’ve met. It’s like they don’t know how to control themselves and have emotional issues.

  1. No one in college handles alcohol well and you become the default babysitter because you know your limits.
  2. People are so promiscuous and almost exclusively focused on attracting the attention of preferred gender and sideline you whenever someone even glances at them. Also no one seems to respect other’s relationships and continuously make advances towards taken people.
  3. The people who don’t care for general socialization just try to linkedinmaxx and don’t even try to make genuine connections.
  4. Everyone gossips so much but they do the SAME EXACT THINGS. Genuinely one to one actions they verbally condone.
Sorry for the rant everyone, I just needed to say it all somehow and it is too embarrassing to admit irl.
