Hello Everyone,
Sorry for the long post.
I was recently browsing some laptops at my local Best Buy and saw a ROG Zephyrus G16 2025 (RTX 5080, Intel Core Ultra 9 285H, 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD) for $2,200 as Open Box Excellent.
I asked the staff to have a look at it and after confirming there was no physical damage, not even a scratch, I thought let's buy this and figure out what's wrong with it — if I'm getting scammed in any way. So I bought it and with the help of Claude, I made a list of things to check and everything looks good (I asked claude to list out all the things I checked and I've listed them all below).
But here's my concern — a new laptop with the same config is $3,600, and when I bought this there was an Open Box Good unit priced at $3,000.
So this made me wonder if I'm getting scammed. The price oddity is why I'm posting this, and also to hear from people who currently own this laptop to see if I'm missing anything. If you could help me out, I'd really appreciate it so I can confirm whether this is actually a steal.
I did a thorough verification of the unit. Here's everything I checked:

**Warranty concern:**
When I registered the product with ASUS, the warranty shows expiration of **2027/April/24** — but I purchased on **2026/May/02**. That means only ~11.5 months of warranty remaining instead of a full year. Should I contact ASUS to reset the warranty start date to my purchase date?
Thanks in advance! Happy to share more screenshots if needed.
