American student accepted, looking for advice

Hi everyone!!

I'm from the US and got accepted for a Master's program here. I'm looking for some advice/answers to a few questions. UCDublin has some offices here, but none close to where I'm from.

I've heard the housing in Dublin is pretty bad. Any insight on what to expect/tips on how to secure a good place?

I'll probably need to work while in school, and am unsure of the culture outside of the US with research assistants/working part-time - are there opportunities for this (sorry if this is a silly question)?

I most likely won't be able to come to Ireland before accepting the offer, and I have never been to any part of Europe before. What should I expect in terms of culture, weather, lifestyle, etc.?

Anything else you can think of to share that I didn't ask about? I'd love to know and would appreciate any further insight!

Thank you all so much!
