Loveholidays family holiday turned in to nightmare

Our family holiday turned into a nightmare after we were denied boarding for our flight to Turkey despite travelling with valid Polish national ID documents, which are accepted for entry to Turkey.

The experience at the airport was humiliating, stressful, and financially damaging. We lost our holiday, incurred additional costs, and were left trying to understand how such a serious mistake could happen.

What shocked me even more was the response from loveholidays afterwards. Instead of showing genuine customer care or attempting to assist in resolving the situation, they quickly distanced themselves from any responsibility, stating they are “only a booking agent” and directing us elsewhere.

When customers book a package holiday, they expect support when something goes seriously wrong — especially when a family is stranded due to what appears to be incorrect handling of valid travel documentation.

I appreciate that airlines make boarding decisions, but the complete lack of meaningful assistance, accountability, or empathy from loveholidays has been deeply disappointing.

We are now pursuing the matter further with the airline, insurance providers, and additional complaint channels while keeping evidence confirming that Polish ID cards are accepted for travel to Turkey.

Based on this experience, I would think very carefully before booking through loveholidays again.
