What birth control do you use? Is one with estrogen a good idea?

I saw an OBGYN and they want me to get on birth control specifically Junel Fe 1 Mg-20 Mcg Tablet. However, I’m a bit confused because she said it’s estrogen and progesterone isn’t estrogen not good when you have endometriosis? I wanted to know if anybody has tried birth control with estrogen and progesterone or Junel specifically. How was it? What birth controls do you recommend?

I was wondering if anybody’s ever felt relief or less endometrioma growth from using birth control? I personally never wanted to use birth control based off of the side effects and experiences I’ve heard. My OB/GYN always would suggest it and now that I have endometriosis my doctor is telling me that getting on a birth control will lesson the chances of getting more cyst. However, I’ve heard some experiences where people are on birth control but still have so many cyst and have to do multiple surgeries in their life, so I’m a bit skeptical. I just wanted to know people‘s experience with birth control if they found it helpful for their experience? Does it actually reduce the opportunity for more cyst to grow?

Hi!

When I was first diagnosed, I was in pain/felt discomfort everyday. I then looked into what foods affect endometriosis and noticed that every time I ate sugar, dairy, pork and red meat I had really bad pain. Once, I cut these foods out I was fine. However, for the past two to three weeks everything I eat causes me lower abdomen/pelvic area to feel heavy, painful bloating, cramping and just excruciating pain. I noticed certain foods trigger this more and when I looked up my symptoms I read a histamine intolerance is probably going on and once I started following that diet I’ve been experiencing the pain less. Has anyone else experienced this pain? Anyone experiencing histamine intolerance and endometriosis? If so does it get better? I already felt like my diet was super restrictive before and now I feel like I can’t really eat anything.
