Assistance with Plex (Media Server not recognised) Please Help
Hi all,
I realise there will be bits of this throughout all this information but i really need some help. I've been trying to find answers to these questions for over 3 weeks now and i can't understand half of what I'm reading.
A few years ago i purchased a WD NAS (My cloud duo) and it ran with Plex so i could use its media server to build a library of stuff for me and my kids to watch at home.
Over the years its had its odd issues but I've always managed to figure it out and get it up and running again.
Apart from this time. This time I've started from scratch and i still can't get it to work.
Does my WD NAS still support plex? when i delete everything and start again, it prompts me to configure and it diverts to plex and says 'getting ready' and stays at that point forever.
is there an issue with plex itself? I've tried to put the Plex media server on 4 different PCs in my house but when i try to use it it just says i need to install plex media server.....i did.....i clicked finish and run to get to this point. its like it doesn't recognise its own software anymore.
i really need help with this, does anyone know how to get this working and failing that if there is an alternate piece of software that is compatible with my WD NAS which will effectively have the same result? (I'm not particularly computer Savvy so any help and instructions would be appreciated.
