We need to start backend maintenance earlier than expected due to some unforseen issues on our side.

The backend changes will start within the next 4 hours. Once maintenance begins, it is expected to last around 2–3 hours.

During this period, syncing and account related features will not work properly. Nuvio can temporarily become read-only, and some clients will be logged out once the switch is completed.

Before the maintenance starts, please update to at least 0.7.9 Beta on Android TV and 0.2.9 Beta on mobile. Desktop and webOS users should also update to the latest available version.

Older versions do not support the backend switch. After the switch, older versions will not sync new data to the database and will become read-only.

Your data will not be wiped. Once the maintenance is complete, users on supported versions can log in again and syncing will continue normally.

Backend maintenance has been completed at 14:27 CEST on July 1, 2026.

You can continue using Nuvio clients after signing in again.

If you are having issues, please make sure you are updated to at least 0.7.9 Beta or newer on Android TV and 0.2.9 Beta or newer on mobile. Desktop and webOS users should also be on the latest available version.

Nuvio has grown a lot recently, and with all the new users joining and supporting the app, we are upgrading and moving our servers to keep things more stable and scalable going forward.

There will be a maintenance period in July. The exact date will be announced later.

Before the maintenance happens, please make sure you are updated to at least 0.7.9 Beta on Android TV and 0.2.9 Beta on mobile. Desktop and webOS users are also requested to be on the latest version.

These versions include the backend switch support needed for the server move.

Once the switch happens, users on older versions will no longer be able to sync new data to the database. Those versions will become read only, so existing data can still be accessed, but new changes will not sync.

During the switch, users on supported versions will be logged out from all Nuvio clients and will need to log in again. There will also be an expected downtime of around 1–2 hours during the maintenance period.

Your data will not be wiped or affected. Until the switch is completed, Nuvio will either stay read only or stop syncing new data. After the switch is done and you log in again, syncing will continue normally.

Also, the Nuvio backend will be open source in the near future, and users will be able to self host their own backend.

We are working on getting Nuvio closer to a stable release, and before that, we want to collect the bugs that are affecting users the most.

Thanks to everyone who has been testing, reporting issues, and sharing feedback so far.

This thread is for issues related to:

• Nuvio Android TV app
• Nuvio Mobile, Android or iOS
• Nuvio website dashboard

This is not a feature request thread. For now, the focus is on fixing existing bugs, especially annoying or long standing issues that make the app feel unstable or behind where it should be.

Issue: Video freezes during playback
Details: Happens after a few minutes of playback. The app becomes unresponsive and needs to be reopened.

If your issue is related to playback, please also mention whether the same file works better, worse, or the same in an external player app.

Please mention the player name too, such as VLC, Just Player, or any other app you tested.

Issue: Video buffers a lot
Details: Happens mostly with larger files. Playback starts fine, then buffers every few minutes.
External player test: Same file plays fine in Just Player.

If possible, describe the issue in a bit more detail. For example:

• When does it happen?
• How often does it happen?
• Did it start after a recent update?
• Does it happen with all files or only specific ones?
• Is it related to login, playback, subtitles, syncing, dashboard, or something else?

Please try to keep one main issue per comment so it is easier to go through and track.
