My thoughts on the Skill Tree, Base Raids, and World Variety Post:

Hey fellow Flameborn,
I’ve been sinking a ton of hours into the game recently, and I absolutely love what Keen Games has built so far. The foundation is incredible. However, to truly unlock its potential as a legendary dark fantasy RPG and ensure a smooth experience, I feel there are several areas that need more depth, variety, and some serious technical polishing.
I’ve put together some feedback ranging from combat to performance, and I’d love to hear what you guys think!

  1. Technical Performance & Servers (Urgent)
Optimization for Mid-Range GPUs: The game desperately needs a massive performance overhaul. I am playing on an RTX 4060 on High settings, and depending on what is happening or placed in the world, my frame rate frequently drops down to 40 FPS, with massive stutters dragging it into the low 20s. For a card of this generation, the optimization should be much better.
Server Stability: Multiplayers and dedicated servers need a lot of love. Connection stability and sync issues during heavy world manipulation still hold the multiplayer experience back.
  2. Skills & Combat Variation
True Class Hybridization: While the skill tree offers great freedom, combining classes currently feels a bit half-hearted. It would be amazing to see true hybrid skills that properly blend playstyles—like being able to infuse magical elemental damage directly onto melee weapons.
More Arrow Variety: I know we get some eternal arrows later in the game (like Ice and Light), but we definitely need more elemental variations, such as Eternal Lightning Arrows or Eternal Fire Arrows to round out the magic archer build.
The Grappling Hook: Using the grappling hook in combat feels a bit clunky right now. It’s rarely worth using strategically during a fight. Making it more fluid and intuitive during active encounters would add a cool layer of vertical gameplay.
  3. World Design, Exploration & Biomes
Verticality & Water: The world would feel so much more alive with natural rivers and lakes. Furthermore, adding entirely new layer biomes—like a massive underworld/cavern system or an empire above the clouds—would make exploration insane.
Miasma Cleansing: It would be highly rewarding if we had an endgame mechanic to permanently remove the Miasma fog from certain regions once all roots in that area are destroyed. Let us heal the land! More elixir wells and shroud roots across the world would also be a great addition.
Enemy & Companion Variety: We need a wider variety of enemy types to keep encounters fresh in the long run. Also, implementing combat companions—like hunting dogs that help fight or automatically pick up loot—would be an incredible QoL upgrade.
Mounts: Depending on how massive the world grows in future updates, ridable animals would be a fantastic addition for traversal.
  4. Base Building & Dark Fantasy Immersion
Base Raids & Defense: I know raids are on the roadmap, but I really hope we get proper defense mechanics to go with them. I want to build massive defensive city walls, traps, or automated turrets to protect my home.
Altar Size & Snapping: Please consider expanding the Flame Altar build zone slightly or adding an additional upgrade level for mega-builds. Also, the building snap-function still needs some fine-tuning, as it can feel a bit stubborn and clunky at times.
Dark Fantasy Assets (Where is the dark wood?): Please give us more dark-colored building assets and furniture! Right now, there is a lot of red and light wood. Come on, guys! 😂 I really want to live out my Dark Fantasy dreams with dark wood, black stone, and gothic-style furniture.
Loot: You can never have enough weapons and armor. Please keep adding more diverse gear sets of all types!
What do you guys think? Are you also experiencing heavy FPS drops on newer cards like the RTX 4060 when things get chaotic? And are you satisfied with the current class hybridization?
Kudos to Keen Games for being so close to the community—let's hope they can iron out the performance issues and bring some of these dark fantasy ideas to life!
