If you saw my post the other day about the upcoming update to IM Pinball you know that I posited we may be getting an in-game mechanic for listening to some of IM's unreleased tracks, and now Jussi has confirmed that this is true! This is an awesome bit of fanservice, but it also begs the question...
If this is just "one thing" that Jussi is willing to disclose about the update, there must be something even bigger coming up...what could it be 🤔
Did anyone else catch this? The other day a brand new Ozric track named "Space Platform" was uploaded to streaming platforms with this cover image. After doing some digging, the only information I could find is this Facebook post with a clip of what appears to be an interview with the band talking about a brand new album that's already finished, indeed called "Harmonic Mind". However, the song has since been removed from streaming. I wonder what the story is there 🤔
Either way, it seems new music is on the way!
After months of radio silence, we finally have an announcement about the highly anticipated upcoming update to Infected Mushroom Pinball! While the juicy details have yet to be revealed, Jussi has just teased in the official Discord server that a special "Anniversary Challenge" with "insane" prizes commemorating one year since the game's early access launch are on the way, and that we can expect the update to finally drop in a few weeks!
However, I believe this teaser isn't quite as secretive as it may seem on first glance. By analyzing the image, I've spotted the names of several unreleased IM tracks on various tapes. Though some are hard to make out without being familiar with these deep cuts, we've got:
The Need To Feed, the track that eventually became Cities of the Future
Die Nay (Dainai) V2, an apparent unreleased version of the comp track
Sleeping (May Be), an infamous "joke song" IM shared online ages ago
And, finally, what I'm pretty sure is Institute of Science, one of the more well known unreleased tracks.
If we couple this teaser with this comment by IM from their IM30 AMA on the Monstercat subreddit a few months back (where, interestingly enough, they said "may be in our video game" and not "maybe") I believe we could be getting an official collection of previously unreleased IM songs INSIDE of IM Pinball!
What do you guys think? Personally, I'm super excited about this possibility and I think it would be amazing fanservice to finally give us a way to listen to these tracks in a high quality, official format.
