Hi I was hoping to see on this thread if anyone had advice or information for me. I’m currently due to finish my LLB law degree, and I’m considering joining the UK navy upon completion. I’ve considered a career in The Irish Defence force but the lack of opportunities in my area of study have put me off.

Firstly, I’ve read online that there can be ceiling for dual nationals. I hope not offend anyone, but as I am a UK and Republic of Ireland passport holder would that be the same for me? Or is our shared history acceptable in terms of security clearance.

Secondly, I can’t find many women’s experiences of the navy online. Can anyone share where I may find more anecdotal experiences or share their own.
