Fantasy/Ice palace surrounded by wolves
Hi, I'm looking for a fantasy, maybe YA, novel about a quest to destroy an ice palace or a wizard or something. Here's what I remember. I'm not sure how much is really from THAT book or just hallucination, but this is what I've got:
The group that forms wants to destroy (or re-balance?) the magic in that country/realm. They travel north, with a few stops and fights on the road, and then have to cross a huge ice shield full of dangerous wolves and also some dangerous humans? It's super cold and freezing.
They arrive at the ice palace and when they go inside, they realise that it's a maze out of ice walls that constantly move, they split up but also wrap a rope around each other to stay connected?!
I remember that the actual destruction of that Big Bad Magical Force Person felt a bit anti-climatic but the palace started to fall apart then, indicating they've won. I think they also had to face some mental challenges or callbacks to their past.
On their way back one of them is definitely attacked by the wolves, maybe even one of them died, it was super cold and scary and they camp on the ice field over night. Then, they are kind of saved by those dangerous humans, who don't seem to be that dangerous and like it's just a stereotype that they're uncivilised.
I think part of the group was a Female Main Character, some older more responsible broody knight person as well as a love interest.
And I also think when they arrive back home or in the first village, they can already feel the consequences of that Big Bag Magic Person being gone, because everything is better, but I think they don't actually tell everyone it was them? At least at first? Because of modesty?
Well, that's what I constantly have to think about. It might have very well been a book tok novel. There also was a map I think, or I have seen too many fantasy maps and hallucinated it in my mind lol
