Hey everyone,

I'm new to cinematography and literally have almost to zero knowledge.

But I’ve been really obsessed with the visual style in Olivia Rodrigo’s “drop dead” MV and I’m trying to figure out how to recreate something similar for my own personal project.

Specifically, I’m curious about:

• The overall aesthetic (kind of gritty but still polished?)
• Lighting setup it feels moody but still very intentional
• Camera techniques (angles, movement, and can I achieve it using the lens of sony zv-e10 kit lens?)
• Color grading
• Any editing tricks or effects that stand out

If anyone has experience with this kind of look or can break down what’s going on technically (or even just point me in the right direction), I’d really appreciate it.
