Just started tc but CPS legal trainee offer now -advice pls
Hi, I recently started as a legal trainee to Magistrates at Moj. I have today been made an offer to start for a trainee Prosecutor (solicitor) at CPS to start in October 2027.
Being a Prosecutor has been my goal for many years. I once had a reserve list expire and have been unsuccessful a few times so this was such a shock and I'm so happy. However, I just started a TC and would qualify Apil 28 in this role as a Legal Advisor.
I have a long wait for the CPS until October 27 of course. Friends have suggested I stay here and join CPS as a Crown Prosecutor after qualifying as a solicitor but there's no guarantee of passing the interview then etc.
Any advice? My heart is saying take the risk and go with CPS as that's what I always wanted. Taking my age into account I will be 36 when I qualify as a Prosecutor
