I decided to learn how to code. Well 7 months later I have a 20,000 line of code roguelike backend game engine. I created this in pythonista on my iPad Pro. I purchase a MacBook because I can’t use pygame on my iPad. I code away from home on my lap. I have a legion pro 7i 275hx ultra 9 5080 laptop. If I use that in my lap my skin will melt.

I bought the m5 and imported my codebase into pycharm. I noticed Pycharm does real time updates constantly unlike pythonista because it’s a real coding environment. The Mac book air gets really hot on the back center area of the base when it updates after I change things. Everything runs fine in pycharm. There might be mild slow down if I am using pycharm and some other app. Is this normal? Is it possible I got a dud? Does anybody else have experience with pycharm in decent sized code bases? I am still in the exchange window if I got a dud and the overheating is not normal. The heat actually doesn’t ever touch my legs so I can deal with it if it’s normal. Thank you kindly.
