I've been investing since I was 18, 27 now. I feel super behind on my personal portfolio. My 401k is looking very good, not concerned there, but I am frustrated at my lack of progress managing personal investments. All time I'm down 2500, not bad IMO. I've made great calls, bought gold in 2024 and sold last year. I fact, I was up 8k last year and then the tariff wars destroyed me (options trading). I do mostly swing trades and try and find good entries but always get burned.
Right now, I am holding JEPQ, JEPI, ELF, ADBE, MO, NEM, SOFI. I am down 30% on Adobe, I bought at what I thought was a discount for a cash cow. ELF is my volatile risk play and I think it will pay.
I'd like to make an extra 100$ a month but it seems like everyday something geopolitical makes the day more and more red.
I've also missed out on plays before. I told my father in law to short Lennar and DR Horton in 2024, he did and I didnt and I missed out on crazy returns over the fear of losing 1000 dollars. Then, like last year, I lose more on dumber riskier plays. Its like the algorithm knows when I make a play and does the inverse lol
