How to change grips on the 329PD?

I have a few S&W revolvers. Just got the 329PD and want to swap wooden grip with the rubber one. But I'm having trouble removing the wood grip. I don't want to mar this fine-looking grip by trying to pry it off. What's the secret to removing it? I've never had trouble with my other Smiths. TIA

I'm curious as to why men pay so much money for boots with really fancy shafts. Back in the heyday of movie Westerns and cowboy country singers, all the stars wore their pants inside their boots. It showed off the fancy shafts and were trademark looks for Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers, et. al. And when I was a kid, it was common to see men wear them like that. Now, I don't think I've seen a male rodeo star, Western movie, or even a country star wear them like that anymore. Not so for women, who proudly show off their boots with their dresses and jeans. So it begs the question of why men pay $700-$1,000 for a pair of boots with fancy shafts when plain shafts will do the trick for a whole lot less?
