Hey everyone, I found a thread about this but it’s 8 years old and just wanted to hear the perspective from fresh grads and people in the work force now, how much does your GPA in PT school matter?
I’m finishing up my first year, and have been really stressing about this. I’ve made all As and Bs, but this second semester has been almost all Bs. I can see my test scores on our last few exams have been below the class average and I’ve been getting anxious and feeling like I’m out of my league here. I worked as a tech for years and have no problem talking with patients, I do well on our practicals, and recently volunteered in a homeless outreach program where I treated a few people under the supervision of one of our faculty and had a great time, I felt very confident and capable even if it was super basic MSK stuff, but I “failed” two gait analysis skill checks the week prior.
I don’t plan on getting any further education/ residencies after school, just certs on my own time once I have more experience under by belt.
I’m not looking for a pat on the back or anything, but would love to hear from people who felt the same way in school and how they got through it. My only real concern is being a good clinician in the future
