The Lie About "300,000 Azerbaijanis from Armenia", how many Azeris really lived in Armenia
I'm not a fan of Pashinyan (to put it mildly) and don't think he should be prime minister. But sometimes some opposition figures irritate me with completely fabricated narratives (or mindlessly copied from Azerbaijani propaganda), such as the resettlement or "returning" of 300,000 Azerbaijanis to Armenia. Karapetyan mostly use this narrative to scare people (just like Nikol scaring everybody with war). This narrative is nonsense. There can be no talk of a "return" of 300,000 Azerbaijanis, simply because so many Azerbaijanis have never lived in Armenia. The dynamics of the Azerbaijani population in Soviet Armenia and the Armenian population in Soviet Azerbaijan according to USSR censuses:
