What should I learn next to increase my salary?

Hi,

So, basically I am currently working in Defense but the project I am working on is not certifiable because it's in the early phase, so DO178C and such is completely out of scope for us.

Although, I feel I am stagnant in my current role and I want to learn on my own before trying to join a company like Airbus. I have a background in test automation so I did work briefly with verification and certifications in the automotive sector, but now I am in aero/defense.

Also, I am working right now with a RTOS on the application side and did not develop a driver or anything, also this framework I am using feels really far from HW and has tons of interfaces between drivers and applications.

Being this the case I am thinking in buying a Beaglebone Black or using my old Raspberry Pi 3 to learn more about Linux kernel and drivers, Yocto, Uboot... As it's what it's written as a must in most of the jobs I saw posted online. Anyway I want to maximize my income but I low-key like defense but especially the aerospace industry.

So... you have any tips for someone like me?

Oh btw I am programming both in C and C++. I was studying Rust but I think I am not using it in any job anytime soon. Also I have scripted a few things in Python but should refresh my skills.

Thank you in advance.
