Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with UC in 2020 and have managed to remain in remission for the past 5+ years with daily Mesalazine. I've had a bowel movement this morning and for the first time in years had quite a bit of blood in the toilet bowl/ when I've wiped. Okay, I can deal with that. Annoying but nothing I've not had before.
However, throughout the day I've had blood in my underwear. It's still fresh, red blood. It appears to be a constant small drip of blood as whenever I clean myself up, I can see more fresh blood on the toilet wipes. It doesn't appear to be hemorrhoids from what I can tell. I've checked for external hemorrhoids and generally eat enough fibre and don't straint when I go to the toilet.
I'm gonna see how I get on over the next 24 hours and if this is still the case, I'll contact the IBD team for support. But in the meantime, I just want to know if this has happened to anyone else as it's not something I've read about before and Google doesn't really bring much information on the topic.
