What a way to wake up.

So, earlier today on August 6th, qwel shadow drops a new statement regarding everything. Its much more specific than the last one, overall, but still vague as a whole.

It starts out admitting people need apologies, and gets directly into that. Due to the nature of everything it needs to be vague but it directly states qwel wishes to help those affected by a certain someones acts. The one that should've been imprisoned already? Yeah that one. She also continues with that to extend towards everyone who is hurting right now over it all.

Qwel goes on to say she will, from this point until another unspecified time, take a step down from her position as lead for her own personal security and safety and for those affected to help them get the closure they wish.

Next qwel goes on to state that some of which was said is false and/or only telling a skewed part of the story to paint her as a monster. She does take accountability for her shortcomings back in the day and wishes to move past it to better herself as a leader and as a person.

The continuation of posts that will be done on her socials are now going to be done primarily and only by staff, as they care deeply for the IP and the studio as a whole goes much deeper than just the one person.

Now for the Cease and Desists, we know two were sent out, qwel confirming it was not done by her hand and done solely at the whim of the legal team as they anticipated the harassment and hate that would come from the situation as a whole. The legal team has now been advised to not press on this unless the harassment continues.

She then goes on to state that legal action has strongly considered continuing to pursue one individual, a man who met and befriended qwel at 15 when they were in their 20s, due to their targeted attacks and enticed harassment. This, however, is left in the hands on the legal teams discretion whether or not to pursue.

Now, with all that said and done, let's see what the victim's have to say about it.

Gary expresses joy that the legal side has been stopped and praises that qwel is stepping down and holds out hope to get personalized, private apologies.

Joji is disappointed in the fact it was once again a blanket apology, but greatful nonetheless.

Sam is entirely unconvinced, equating this as continued PR.

Now, my thoughts. I feel this is the end. For a while at least. With [unspecified person] likely going to have the legal team thrown at him, things should calm down and be fully stable once the word gets out. Now, at least, it's a time for respite.

It's me, internet detective back again but a little late this time.

This will be probably my last one for a while with the way things are playing out.

So, after finally getting an official, endorsed update about the situation regarding insight of the company and nature of Cease & Desists as seen here in Poko's post on Twitter and then later confirmed by Aaron, a director of consumer goods who works in BCS, allowing it to have truth behind its words both here in Twitter and here in Reddit, the victim's have since started to private/delete/distancing from their public accounts. While this may be a coincidence for some, it does seem suspicious for others. Which is which, however, I'll let you decide.

As of the time writing, the following accounts affected are

• Joji, stepped away due to health concerns and transferred edit permissions of the Collective Testimony to another currently unknown person.

• Void, fully deleted Twitter account. Edit 2: theres now more to this, his original testimony from 2024's rox incident has also been privated.

• Obot, while not a victim directly stated in the testimonies, I'd like to include them as they were important to the victims. Privated account after crashing out in Twitter comment threads, left for mental health leave. EDIT: he has now returned, posts now say he actually privated due to an imposter using his name.

• Chip, stepped away due to wishing to distance themselves from the situation.

You might be asking why I'm reporting this, I'm doing so purely for archival reasons as well as raising an eyebrow at the unusual timing that they were all active up until Aaron had confirmed the legitimacy of Poko's post.

Despite everything, i do wish them all the best of health and recovery. While i myself may disagree with their methods and conduct, i don't wish for any harm to come to them in any form.

This will be a long one because its a step by step breakdown of the subtext within the statement, broken down by paragraphs. Do keep in mind its vague because it has to be. Legal silencing is in effect so names and events were not said directly in the statement as they do have to be intentionally hidden because a direct call out will throw the entire legal action out to the wolves.

Also a warning, no TLDR for this one because its simply too much to summarize.

Paragraph 1: introductions. Explains they know they have been quiet as well as expressing trouble for having to bring the situation public.

Paragraph 2: continued introduction. Expresses how this situation has got out of hand and openly admitted to how if a statement was issued sooner it would simply be an emotionally charged word soup with no actual merit behind it. They took the time they needed to consult team as well as professionals on how to move forward.

Paragraph 3: backstory of rox and her relationship. She entered online at 14, met rox around 15-16 and through childish ignorance believed in trusting them. They became friends at this time.

Paragraph 4: trigger warning for future events.

Paragraph 5: the drawing. August 2024 qwel saw the infamous drawing rox had made. Rox claimed it was peer pressure and qwel, believing his claim, pushed it aside in hopes his words were true. This was not the case, he successfully gaslighted her into believing it was ok. She expresses regret in not seeing through his lies earlier.

Paragraph 6: October 2024 qwel is given undeniable proof of roxs acts. She acted immediately, firing him by the next day. She had to stay in partial contact due to company assets being held by the offender, once those company assets were fully transferred contact went fully silent.

Paragraph 7, 8, 9: Theyre short so lumping together. Between the firing and the time of company asset acquisition is two months. She confirms that those two months were not between gaining knowledge and firing, but instead firing and asset acquisition. Paragraph 9 is stating that its ignorant and harmful to everyone involved to believe that misinterpretation.

Paragraph 10: the apology. Qwel directly says she is deeply sorry to any victims who have been hurt by the acts of rox. She recognizes the strength it takes to come forward and is willing to shoulder the guilt of her own trauma alongside them.

Paragraph 11: seriousness. Qwel expressed joy in what the game of dandys world has become and is proud of both her team of over 100 members and the community that has grown from it.

Paragraph 12: work goes on. The team has continued to work, despite the controversy. Qwel herself knows shes the spearhead who will take the brunt of community backlash no matter what, but still expresses that this a team project so her inaction will not prevent the game from being further developed.

Paragraph 13: legality. The stories shared may not be the full scope, or an outright lie. Legal action has been taken and will be shared at a future time to give a more accurate and exact timeline of events and actions.

Paragraph 14: finale. Qwel states remorse for who has become disappointed by recent events and will continue to grow, both as a leader and creator. She also recognizes she has made mistakes and wishes to work past them.

End of statement. The outlash against "lacking apology" is false, paragraph 10 is the apology. The legal action is not "silencing" as its an attempt to bring a full story to the narrative instead of just one sided truth or blatent lie. This is much deeper than it seems. Neither side is righteous in this. There is no villain, and there is no hero. A villain doing good and a hero doing bad are both the same action at the end of it all, so it must be taken with skepticism on both ends.

Earlier today Joji tweeted that they received a C&D as of july 13th.

From reading their tweet, they weren't given a reason, however its kinda obvious as well as a legal C&D MUST state the infraction, this being breach of the signed NDA during their tenure at BlushCrunch.

When getting into the legality of a NDA, it can not be broken unless stated in the terms on the contract, or if the effects discussed are federal law breaking. Joji's document did not implicate any federal laws being broken. Instead, and for the sake of putting bias aside, i will treat it all as truth even should i believe otherwise. The document implicates qwel as a bad friend towards joji, as well as having knowledge at least 2 months prior of the predatory acts of Rox. Neither of these are federal crimes, as knowledge of a crime does not allow the other to act out justice or it will be classified as vigilantism.

So from the start, the NDA was broken outside of specified terms and limitations thus giving legal clarity for a Cease & Desist, or worse, a lawsuit.

This does also answer a few other questions we've had in this time of silence. Those being 1. yes qwel must have been silent due to legal silencing advised by lawers. 2. The doc did not show any federal crimes in their content. And 3. Joji's tweets have shown malice towards qwel and continue to try and rewrite the narrative towards only hate for qwel by claiming impossible scenarios such as not being told what the Cease & Desist is pertaining.

This whole thing stinky, but form your own opinion.
